What should I do if I have water damage?

The first thing you should do is identify the water source (if not a flood) and turn off the source. You’ll also want to turn off the power to avoid damage to your electronics and prevent a fire hazard. Next, call a local water damage restoration company to help you extract the water as quickly as possible. Learn more on our Got Water Damage? page.

When should I call DryHome?

The best time to call DryHome is as soon as you experience flooding and anticipate impending water damage. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, provide a free quote, and be at your property within 2 hours (for emergency requests). We will also help you get the most out of your insurance coverage, so call us first to navigate this process.

What does DryHome’s process look like?

Our Process involves extracting the excess water, applying a mold and mildew treatment, drying the area, replacing flooring or carpet, and offering full restoration services. If your home has experienced significant water damage, we will handle all of the repairs - from drywall to painting to carpet stretching and more.

How long will it take for someone to come to my home?

In an emergency situation, we can usually be on site within 2 hours of your call. This allows us to begin the process of extracting excess water as quickly as possible. In non-emergency situations, we can typically schedule next-day appointments or find a day that works best for you.

Am I covered by my insurance?

After calling DryHome, we’ll take down your insurance carrier information and contact your provider on your behalf. We’ll start with water extraction right away while discussing additional coverage with your insurance company. Then, we’ll review all of the details with you before determining next steps.

Do I need to contact insurance beforehand?

You do not… and you should call us first! We deal with insurance companies on a daily basis and we’ll make sure you get everything possible that’s owed to you. By calling insurance first, they will likely send in a company partnered with them that is sympathetic to their rates. Often, that means the company performing the repairs isn’t operating with your best interest at heart. By contacting DryHome First, you’ll receive the full support of our team and our knowledgeable staff will work directly with your insurance company to maximize your coverage.

Can my carpet be saved?

Typically, if the carpet hasn’t been wet for more than 3 days, we can save it. The longer the water sits, however, the more likely it is to produce mold and mildew. If we can get the water out and air moving under the carpet soon enough, there’s a great chance that the carpet will not need replacement.

How long does the process take?

On average, our customers are back to enjoying their living space within 3-5 days. This is dependent upon the size and location of the flooded area, the contents of the home, as well as the extent of the damage. Water that’s fresh is generally faster to repair compared to water that’s been sitting for a few days.

Can I get a free estimate?

We provide customers with a free, no-obligation quote of our service costs. This allows you to know how much it is going to cost after service, minus any insurance coverage. If you have any questions about costs or coverage, please Contact Us for more information.
